Dean Corso, a rare book dealer is appointed by a renowned book collector Balkan to verify the authenticity of one of his book. According to sources, only three copies of that book exist but in three different places. But Balkan is convinced that only one book holds the secret of the ninth gate.
With the aid of the mysterious blond woman who keeps showing up, Corso slowly learns the truth behind "The Nine Gates to the Kingdom of Shadows".
